From what I can make out this more about the Artists that the Genre and Artists such as Smokey Robinson,The Temtation, The Four Tops etc will always be associated with other non Motown Artists such as Otis Reading, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave etc all big name under the Soul Banner but recording as far apart as Memphis, Chicargo and Detroit in America. In the United Kingdom though a smaller but just as vibrant Soul scene was being enjoyed with Bands such as The Equals,Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band, the Band being named after The Beat Club in Brixton and who can forget The Foundations.
